My word count stands at 41,776 — which leaves me less than 9k words to go and three whole days in which to write them. I may yet pull this out of the fire. And my word graph (left) shows a healthy acceleration over the last week.
The best news is that this venture through NaNoWriMo has been just plain fun! My novel is a hard science fiction yarn which shows my 50’s and 60’s influences clearly, but is also distinctly mine. I haven’t tried a first-person point-of-view before, and it’s both freed me up to be humorous in spots, and made my path through Novel Land clearer since I can’t do viewpoint-changing side trips. I have a good feeling about this one.
